EVENING SPEAKERS

Wednesday, March 6 - 8:00 p.m.
Roger Welsch, author, writer, speaker, and correspondent for CBS Sunday Morning, will entertain conference attendees at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6 immediately after the reception. Roger, author of 6 books including Old Tractors and the Men Who Love Them and Busted Tractors and Rusty Knuckles, will share his wit as he discusses the hobby of tractor collecting. He is a guy who loves orange tractors but is willing to venture into a "Gathering" of green and yellow tractor "nuts!" Watch for his monthly column in Successful Farming.

Thursday, March 7 - 7:00 p.m.
Brenda Kruse, author of John Deere Collectibles, will conduct an entertaining, enlightening, and educational session exposing some of the more mysterious memorabilia and creative collectibles from Deere's past. From bicycles and snowmobiles to airplanes and automobiles, even fertilizer and silos -- Deere made and/or marketed more than just two-cylinder tractors and farm equipment. Sounds interesting. You'll learn, smile, laugh and enjoy!

Friday, March 8 - 7:00 p.m.
Well-known author and photographer, Randy Leffingwell, will travel to the "Gathering" from Los Angeles to discuss his writing, photography, and knowledge of rare and beautiful John Deere tractors. One of Randy's books, John Deere Tractors - A History of John Deere Farm Tractors, contains more than 250 stunning color photographs and rare archival pictures of all the legendary Deere tractors. Randy travels across the United States to photograph Deere tractors in collections and at work in the fields. Put this presentation on your conference priority list!

Saturday, March 9
After a delicious buffet dinner at the Saturday evening banquet, sit back and enjoy Lewis Baumgartner, "The World's Worst Farmer." Lewis, our keynote speaker, is one of America's leading farm humorists. Since 1987 he has entertained at hundreds of meetings and conventions all over the U.S. and Canada. His hilarious tales of woe about his beloved farm, Ragweed Ranch in Cocklebur County, are a delight for all. You don't have to be a farmer to enjoy the humor of this gentleman.

Seating is limited at the banquet, so register for the conference now.
